Sports Kit
All Sports Kit worn must be King’s branded. Please refer to your year group below for requirements:
The following items are the uniform that can be purchased from our uniform supplier Monkhouse, those marked* can only be purchased from Monkhouse:
Pre-Preparatory Pupils: (4-8 Years)
- Black games bag* with drawstring clearly named on the outside with a large name tape or sewn name in white
- White trainers (velcro-fastening ideal) for outdoor Games
- Plain white ankle socks
- Plain black plimsolls (elasticated/ Velcro-fastening ideal) for indoor PE
- Regulation black or navy swim shorts (fitted/briefs-style) *
- Regulation black or navy blue swimming costume (Year 1 upwards) *
- Regulation King’s School Rochester swimming bag (Year 1 upwards)*
Preparatory Pupils: (8-13 Years)
- Trainers – 1 pair of white trainers
- Socks – Plain white ankle socks
- Sports bag* – With house colour
- Swimming trunks* / Swimming costume – School regulation black or navy only
- Swimming bag* – Blue with school crest
- Base layer leggings
- Base layer top
- Towel – For swimming
- Baseball hat* – School colours (Midsummer Term only) Rugby kit and Football kit (Boys in Michaelmas term)
- Boots – Football/rugby boots. All studs must bear the British Standard Safety Kitemark
- Hooped Shirt* – In School colours with crest
- Gum shield – It is compulsory to wear mouthguards for rugby
- Shin pads – Compulsory for hockey and football
- Baseball hat* – School colours
- Abdominal protector (cricket box) and pants Cricket whites are only needed for those pupils selected for the School team. This includes sweater, shirt and tracksuit bottoms.
Senior & Sixth Form Pupils: (13-18 Years)
- King’s School branded Canterbury shorts and t-shirt
- For Rugby, King’s branded Canterbury rugby shorts, rugby shirt and long socks
- For all other sports, white ankle socks should be worn
- King’s branded Canterbury tracksuit midlayer and bottom may be worn
- King’s branded Canterbury contact top may be worn in inclement weather
- Suitable footwear depending on the activity
- Pupils should wear trousers when in the Cathedral.
For Rugby, pupils will need:
- Football/Rugby Boots. All studs must bear the British Standard Safety Kitemark
- Gum shield (compulsory)
For Cricket, pupils will need:
- School Baseball Cap *
- Cricket Box and Box-Shorts
- Tracksuit bottoms
- White trainers or cricket spikes
Cricket whites are only required if the pupil is selected for a school fixture.
For Badminton/Tennis, pupils will need:
- Their own racket.
For Swimming, pupils will need:
- A plain black or navy swimming cap and plain black or navy swimming costume/speedos.
