King’s took part in more rowing at the weekend, entering three races at the Reading Town Regatta on Saturday. These races were very challenging as the teams were competing against strong crews preparing for the Henley Royal Regatta. It was a beautiful day for rowing and competing against such experienced teams was a valuable, and enjoyable, learning experience for everyone involved. Read more about the races here. 

Op 4x: Mr Piticariu /Toby S/Alex H/Ruben G

This was an open event, not a junior one, and due to one of our rowers being injured, Mr Piticariu had to step in and race with the boys. Despite this, the team worked very hard and secured second place in the heat, though they did not qualify for the final. Considering the team had not practised together in this combination, Mr Piticariu was very pleased with the performance.

OpJ15 4x+: Reuben D/James G/Pippa L/Freddie R/cox Reg P
Despite a strong start and good performance, it was not enough to keep up with the other crews. This was a tough race with many strong competitors with only the top crew advancing to the final. 

W 2x
Angelika K/Ella J
It was Angelika’s first race and the debut for this double. The girls had an excellent start and raced strongly, staying with the leading crew until the midway point. Ultimately, they finished in second place, just short of qualifying for the final, as again only the top crew advanced.

Everyone enjoyed taking part in the regatta and had such a fantastic day.
