Language & Culture Evening Charity Event
Friday 11 October | 6.30pm to 9.30pm | School Hall
On Friday 11th October we host our biannual Language and Culture Evening Charity Event at King’s. The event highlights our diverse community as we celebrate the blend of cultures in the King’s community and showcase the languages we speak. There will be music from a range of cultures, poetry in different languages, traditional and modern dancing, games based on language and culture, and many more activities to entertain all ages. Guests are invited to wear clothing representative of their own, their family or their friends’ culture (this could be traditional or modern).
We encourage families to bring along food and snacks. These can be for your table, or can be shared with others at the event. Please note at King’s we are nut aware and ask for no products with nuts. If you plan to share your snacks, please bring a list of ingredients with allergens highlighted e.g. celery, crustaceans, egg, fish, lupin, milk, mollusc, mustard, nuts, peanuts, sesame, gluten, sulphates. – though there are more, PLEASE list all ingredients.
The event will raise funds for the Medway African and Caribbean Association (MACA) whose aim is to raise awareness of and celebrate African and Caribbean Culture through performance and art displays. MACA will attend the event and perform to showcase their talents in song and dance, as well as sharing information about the charity work they do.
The event will be ticketed at £5.00 per person, which includes entertainment and some fun games (no ticket sales on the door). Doors open at 6.30pm. There will be a bar open throughout the evening with a range of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks for sale to raise further funds for charity (cash or card payment). There will also be additional games throughout the evening, to play these please bring cash.
