The majority of children begin their journey in our Little King’s Nursery, although children can join any class as long as there are available spaces.

Registration

Parents may register their child for Little King’s Nursery and Pre-Prep at any time before or after a visit by completing the online registration form here, along with a non-refundable £120 registration fee. Your child’s name will then be added to the provisional list for entry in the indicated term.

This academic year our Nursery starts from age 3, but from September 2026 we will be accepting registrations for children from age 2. Designed to support busy families, our expanded Nursery provisions will provide 50 weeks of care a year with wraparound hours from 7.30am to 6.30pm, ensuring your child is safe, happy and learning in a place that feels like a second home. Parents are invited to meet with Mrs Kellie Crozer, Vice-Principal, Junior School. After which you can register your child and we will arrange an assessment. The assessment allows us to ensure they are ready to embrace the opportunities we offer and assess their readiness to play and learn harmoniously with others. Nursery places are allocated in order of registration, and our Nursery children continue their education through the Pre-Prep.

Parents are invited to tour the school with the Kellie Crozer, Vice Principal, Junior School. After the tour, you can register your child and arrange for them to spend a morning or day at the school. This visit allows us to assess their progress in literacy and numeracy, as well as their overall attitude towards learning and consideration of others. Our aim is to ensure every child enjoys their time at school and achieves their full potential. We uphold high standards and expectations while accommodating diverse abilities and talents, offering suitable challenges for each pupil.

PREPARATORY Admissions

Ages 8-13

Pupils may enter King’s Preparatory School from Year 4 (age 8) to Year 8 (age 12). Whilst most pupils join in September at the start of the academic year, new pupils are welcome at any time, provided there are available spaces.

Parents may register their child at any time before or after a visit by completing the online registration form and paying a non-refundable £120 registration fee. Your child’s name will be added to the provisional list for entry in the indicated term. Please note that your child cannot be assessed for entry without being registered first.

Upon receipt of the registration form, we request a school reference report from your child’s current school. We would also be grateful if you could forward the most recent end of year school report to admissions.

Once you have registered your child we will arrange for them to sit our entrance assessment. The assessment includes verbal and non-verbal reasoning, Maths, English and creative writing.

We apply these criteria to all pupils, considering any disabilities and making reasonable adjustments to ensure no pupil is at a substantial disadvantage. While we do not have a specialist unit, we try to accommodate children with Additional Educational Needs (AEN) as much as possible.

For pupils with diagnosed additional needs, a current educational psychologist’s report is required. A meeting with our Head of Additional Needs will be arranged to assess the level of support needed and determine our capacity to provide it.

If the assessment is successful, Kellie Crozer, Vice Principal, Junior School will make a formal offer of a place at King’s, sending the offer to the parents along with the Acceptance Form and Terms and Conditions. Parents accept the place by completing the Acceptance Form and agreeing to the school’s terms and conditions. A £1,000 deposit is required, which is refundable against the final term’s fees but non-refundable if your child does not join the school.
