We were honoured to welcome Nanda Joree to our chapel this morning to present her with a donation of £635 for PAPYRUS UK, a charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health and emotional well being in young people.
The funds were raised during a memorable Open Mic night in September in memory of OR Ashwin, Nanda Joree’s son. The event not only showcased the incredible talents within our community but also served as a powerful reminder of the importance of coming together to support one another in times of need. The Old Roffensian Society kindly doubled the funds raised that evening. See photos of this fabulous event here.
Nanda impressed the importance of PAPYRUS UK and the value of having accessible support by encouraging everyone to save the HOPELINE247 number (0800 068 41 41) on their phones. This service offers a lifeline to those in need, ensuring that help and someone to listen is just a phone call away.
We encourage our community and beyond to learn more about PAPYRUS UK and its commendable work in suicide prevention. Their efforts are vital in creating a safer, more supportive environment for young individuals facing mental health challenges.
