Year 3 had fun in class dabbling in the Maya Civilisation. They were also lucky to have a visitor transport them back in time.
It started with a Q&A session, and then the pupils learned to count to 10 in Mayan by playing, ‘Who wants to be a Mayanaire?!’ The pupils then solved Maths questions using the Mayan system and worked on different stories through drama.
Year 3 loved dressing up and exploring Mayan culture. They examined artefacts, listened to Mayan instruments and even sang songs. The teachers finished the day by reading a script to tell a Mayan story. The day was tremendous fun and a great entry point into a new and exciting topic!
