The School is frequently congratulated on the smart appearance and polite manners of its pupils. We are particularly proud of the King’s School Rochester uniform and pupils are expected to wear it with pride.

Year R – Year 3 Uniform

These items are the existing uniform that can be purchased from our uniform supplier Monkhouse Schoolwear Specialists (www.monkhouse.com):

Winter and Summer Uniform

Winter

Winter uniform is worn in the Michaelmas term (September to December) and the Lent term (January to March).

• Regulation navy blazer with school colours trim and 2 vents with school badge*
• Regulation school jumper with trim *
• Mid-grey trousers (no turn-ups or patch pockets)
• Regulation mid-grey skirt *

• Knee-length plain mid-grey socks or plain mid-grey tights (to be worn with skirt)

Summer

Summer uniform is worn in the Midsummer term (April to July).

• Mid-grey shorts (no turn-ups or patch pockets)

• Short grey socks with hooped school colours * (to be worn with shorts)
• Plain white ankle socks (to be worn with summer dress)

Additional Uniform – All Year Round

• Please note that in the Pre-Preparatory School, only regulation school scarves and Beanie hats along with black/ navy gloves may be worn in cold weather, and sun hats must be regulation navy blue with school badge.

Sports Kit – All Year Round

PLEASE NOTE: There will be new sports kit for September 2024. You will be advised when it’s available to purchase.
Whilst we are awaiting the new sports kit, we have stock of our existing sports kit, available to purchase via this google form.

The following items are the uniform that can be purchased from our uniform supplier Monkhouse, those marked* can only be purchased from Monkhouse:

• Black games bag* with drawstring clearly named on the outside with a large name tape or sewn name in white
• Plain white trainers (velcro-fastening ideal) for outdoor Games
• Plan white ankle socks
• Plain black plimsolls (elasticated/ Velcro-fastening ideal) for indoor PE
• Regulation black swim shorts (fitted/briefs-style) *
• Regulation black or navy blue swimming costume (Year 1 upwards) *
• Regulation King’s School Rochester swimming bag (Year 1 upwards)*

Hair, Face and Jewellery

• No jewellery (including earrings) or watches may be worn
• Hair should be neat and tidy, no colours or tints are permitted. If it is below the collar it should be tied back with black or navy blue ribbon/hairband or a regulation black or navy scrunchie or black or navy clips.

Orders can be placed by ringing Monkhouse on 0161 476 7216. Should you wish to speak to one of the specially-trained uniform advisers, this service is available Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 17:00.

Added Extras

• Monkhouse operates a free returns service for exchanges and refunds.
• It is essential that all items of uniform are clearly labelled with first name and surname. Monkhouse offer a name-taping service so that uniform arrives named and ready to wear.
• Made to measure service is available in exceptional circumstances for children who are not a standard size.
