
The 98th running of the Senior School House Cross Country took place on Saturday at the challenging Nashenden Downs course, with 86 pupils taking part. Even the Principal entered and finished a respectable 6th!
With rolling hills, exposed fields, and sticky late-November conditions underfoot, the event provided a true test of endurance, grit, and house pride across all age groups.
In the Junior Boys race, a thrilling finish saw Parker’s Oscar M narrowly claim victory by just one second over a fast-charging Crick pair. The top three finishers were Oscar M (Parker) in 35:52, Nicky S (Crick) in 35:53, and Arjun B (Crick) in 36:46. The juniors demonstrated strong pacing and determination on the demanding course.
The Junior Girls race was dominated by Whiston’s Heidi P, who broke clear to secure a confident win. She was followed by Josephine H (Crick) in 39:40 and Romy J (Storrs) in 42:51, completing a competitive and spirited podium.
In the Senior Boys race, Crick continued their strong form as Charlie V powered to victory in 33:17, holding off Ralf J (Storrs) in 33:33 and Billy S (Crick) in 33:37. The race was fast-paced from start to finish, with all three top finishers showing exceptional endurance and tactical awareness.
The Senior Girls race saw a commanding performance from Crick’s Amelie V, who led from the front to cross the line in 44:02. She was followed by Annie C (Storrs) in 45:33 and Daya S (Parker) in 46:13. Amelie’s strong, composed run set the tone for an exciting senior field.
Overall, Crick House dominated the senior races, while Parker and Whiston led the junior categories. The 98th edition of the Senior School House Cross Country was a thrilling and memorable event, showcasing determination, skill, and the house spirit that defines this historic competition.

Our cadets welcomed CCF staff, ORs and Chair of Governors Air Commodore John Mass to the annual CCF dinner. This took place in the Conference Centre where everyone enjoyed a delicious meal, speech and traditional toasts.
