Last night’s Scholars’ Concert, held in School Hall on one of the hottest evenings of the year, was a celebration of remarkable talent and dedication. Featuring both Prep and Senior School music scholars, the evening offered a rich and varied programme that showcased the depth of musical ability across the School.
Despite the heat, the performers played with composure and passion, demonstrating not only technical skill but also a genuine love for their craft. From expressive vocal solos and lyrical clarinet pieces to beautiful violin and piano performances, every musician brought something special to the stage.
The concert featured an impressive range of ages and instruments, including two marimba players. Highlights included Alex M’s playful and energetic clarinet opener, Zara A’s stunning vocal and piano performances, and John F’s moving rendition of Empty Chairs at Empty Tables. The audience was also treated to a beautifully controlled Mozart Agnus Dei by Romy J, a stirring Telemann duet for oboes, and outstanding performances from scholars as young as Year 7 right through to the Upper Sixth.
The evening was a true celebration of music at King’s.
