Cricket

Cricket is the School’s core sport during the Midsummer term.

Cricket for all ages is mixed, with the addition of dedicated girls’ teams to further complement our offering. In the Preparatory School, all children have the opportunity to participate in competitive fixtures, with our Saturday fixture list running from U12 upwards.

Additional training is available outside of Games lessons, including 1:1 coaching during the school day. The School has recently developed a partnership with The Central Cavaliers Area Cricket Programme, which includes their coaches working with our most talented players.

In the Senior School, winter training begins in January, with specialist coaches providing further expertise to our most able. Many of our pupils are involved in the Kent Area Programme and our cricket scholars benefit from additional specialist coaching on a 1:1 or small group basis.

Our 1st XI tour overseas, with the upcoming tour to Sri Lanka in 2025. Marquee fixtures against the MCC and the annual Cathedral Schools T20 tournament complete a competitive fixture list consisting of varied formats.

Many of our staff are keen cricketers and run a comprehensive fixture list for Old Roffensians, where staff and parents are also invited to pay.
