On Thursday Year 5 embarked on an exciting journey back in time with a Viking theme day at Kent Life. The children took part in a range of hands-on workshops that brought Viking history vividly to life.
Pupils learned the art of Viking warfare, practising how to fight with a sword and forming a mighty shield wall – an experience that proved to be a firm favourite with many of the children. They also discovered what it was like to set sail on a Viking long ship and Viking beliefs about the origins of the world – an exciting tale with gods, frost giants and a magical cow.
The day continued with a lively trading workshop, where pupils learnt about Viking trading and acted out a bartering exchange. It was a fantastic day filled with fun and lots of learning. Year 5 returned to school buzzing with new knowledge and stories to share!
