The U14s had an excellent day at the Kent VIIs tournament at Dartford Grammar School. The day started with a tough fixture against Bennett Memorial Diocesan School, who went on to win the competition. The team defended hard and put the opposition under great pressure, leading to handling errors. However, we could not convert our possession into scores, despite creating some great chances.

Our next fixture was against St Olave’s Grammar School. KSR started extremely well and scored the first two tries, off the back of some excellent team play and evasive running. St Olave’s fought back and managed to equalise in the final play. Our penultimate group stage match was against Wilmington Grammar School and this was another tight fixture. KSR had a good first half and opened the scoring, however fatigue played a large role in the second half and the U14s came off second best.

The final match was played against Canterbury Academy and despite some tired legs, the team pushed on and secured a great win. Evasive running and some excellent support paid dividends as the boys finished the group stage with a win. Unfortunately, we did not progress to the knock-out rounds but we did end the day with two friendly matches against Hayes school and Sevenoaks. It was a great day out and the boys were a credit to themselves and the school.
