Lower Fifth Computer Science pupils had the opportunity to visit the Centre for Computing History in Cambridge, a pioneering museum dedicated to the story of the Information Age. The visit included a fascinating tour showcasing the evolution of computing, an interactive session with the MegaProcessor – the world’s largest CPU – and a hands-on workshop building programmable circuits with Arduinos and Raspberry Pis.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day, gaining a deeper understanding of the history and impact of computing while developing practical skills in programming and electronics. It was an inspiring and enriching experience for all involved and brings back some memories of the early days of tech for the older ones among us! Can you spot your first computer?
