
The King’s School Rochester rowing team had a strong start to the long-distance racing season at the Kingston Small Boats Head on the Thames this weekend, competing among 491 entries over two divisions. This was the squad’s first major long-distance event of the year, covering a challenging 5500m course.
The crews showed great composure and effort, delivering excellent results in Division Two, including a successful debut for the new quad recently purchased.
Crew Results
Our squad was represented by four crews in Division Two:
- The Open J18 4x crew of Chester C, Ben R, Reuben D, and Taylor M finished a strong 7th in their category and 23rd overall.
- The Women J18 2x of Ruby H and Violet W placed 16th in their category (366th overall).
- The Open J16 2x crew of Tristan O and Alex M achieved an impressive 6th place in their category (185th overall).
- The second Open J16 2x with Matthew H and Arthur G finished 11th in their category (336th overall).
Overall, it was a valuable and successful day, providing the squad with vital experience as they delivered great performances across the board.

Emilia and her horse, Bugatti, achieved a fantastic victory as overall County winners while representing King’s at the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Dressage Championship Qualifier. Following this impressive performance, Emilia will now represent both the school and Kent at the prestigious Championships at Hickstead in May. We wish her the very best of luck!
