Sixth Form Politics pupils visited two major UK institutions on Monday. First was the Houses of Parliament, which started with a tour then a workshop on creating election manifestos. Although the House of Commons was out of bounds for refurbishment, the pupils had a Q&A session with Rochester MP Lauryn Edwards, with the first question being about VAT! After a delicious lunch in Chinatown, the pupils moved to the Supreme Court, where they enjoyed a guided tour and took part in a legal debate on education while trying out the justices’ chairs. A bonus of the trip was meeting the Court’s Assistant Director, Ben Yallop, OR who recognised the King’s uniform and has offered to welcome us back for another visit in the future.
