King’s Senior Choir and Choristers ventured into central London on Monday 16 June to sing evensong at St Paul’s Cathedral. To give some idea of how prestigious an activity this was, visiting choirs from around the world have to reserve their opportunity over a year in advance to do the same.
It was a privilege to take our school’s flagship choral group to this awe-inspiring site. The congregation there largely comprises tourists in London wanting to catch a glimpse of Wren’s stunning architecture and experience beautiful music as it reverberates around the massive space inside—especially its iconic dome.
Many lovely comments about King’s Choir were received from members of the congregation who had travelled from the United States and other countries. Congratulations and thanks go to all pupils and staff involved for representing the choral tradition of our school so well. It was a very special day for all of us, and one which will always be remembered.
