Once again, our annual trip to Picardie France with the Year 6 took place from the 16th – 20th of June. The weather was fantastic, France was beautiful and year 6 were all superb, throwing themselves gamely into all the challenges of a week away from home, including the three pupils who celebrated their birthday!
We played pétanque, went for walking tours of nearby town Montdidier, petted goats and learned how snails are farmed (and taste!). In the grounds of the chateau where we were staying, we had an amazing campfire and roasted marshmallows and did the blind trail and low ropes challenges. We also visited the gorgeous city of Amiens and its impressive cathedral and lovely French cafés.
A trip to try and make croissants at a real French bakery was also amazing. Not to be forgotten was the day we spent at Parc Astérix where the brave and the bold did Europe’s fastest roller coaster among an incredible array of rides and thrills. The year 6 impressed with their enthusiasm and courage, speaking French every day. A huge thank you to Mrs Warne, Mrs Hannaford, Mrs Marshal, Mrs Wright and Mr Parker-Bruce for making it all possible.

A dedicated dancer for years, Rosanna recently represented England at the Dance World Cup in Spain, winning Gold for 'Essence of Ireland' and two Bronze medals for 'Feet of Flames' and 'Celtic Fusion.' In recognition of these outstanding achievements, she was awarded a prestigious Velvet Cap at this week’s Whole School Service. Well done Rosanna.
