Four brave Junior School pupils took on the Townsend Warner prize, a History competition so tough that even George Orwell only came second.
The Townsend Warner is a prestigious national prep school competition that has been running for 140 years. Questions range from the Second Punic War to Iraq, Margaret Thatcher and Fontainebleau Abbey. The papers have been described as “Year 8 meets A-level”.
This year, Roman G, Albert B, Zain B and Alastair T tackled round one after working hard over the Christmas break. A huge well done to them for rising to such a challenge and we wish them the best for their results later this term.
