Our pianists gathered in the Conference Centre to celebrate the arrival of a new grand piano, a 1903 Blüthner. It has been completely restored in Germany in 2010, including new strings, hammers and felts, as well as the case. We are grateful to David Golding for generously donating this piano, and for Jenny Golding’s help in acquiring the instrument in memory of her cousin who was a chorister, John Clarke.

Special thanks are also due to former chorister Tom Gurney OR who supported the move and instigation of this beautiful instrument. Mr Gurney fondly recalls singing at the memorial service for John Clarke back in 1944, a testament to the enduring bond within our musical community.
