It has been a busy few weeks for the School’s General Knowledge teams. In the Preparatory School, the mixed-age team of Rahul S, Ethan O, Emma H and Emily C made it through to the final of the Rowland Constantine Shield Competition. As defending champions, King’s team came joint-first in their heat to win through to the Kent Final.

Emily and Emma were joined by Charlotte J (Year 8) to defeat George Heriot’s School in an exciting Anglo-Scots encounter, the Sassenachs coming through in the final rounds to win by 380 points to 340 points. The B team made up exclusively of Choristers took on King Edward VI School from Stratford-upon-Avon and were narrowly eliminated, despite, predictably, scoring well on the music questions!

In the Senior School, the Senior teams lost to Westminster School and Bedford A , while the Intermediate squads faced Great Ballard and Lady Eleanor Holles Schools in “University Challenge” type-quizzes, which test both knowledge and buzzer-speeds.

Thanks are due to Mr Williamson for his support in facilitating or scoring in these tests of brain-power!
