
The King’s School Rochester rowing squad won a bronze medal at the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships in London on Friday 1 March. This is the biggest junior indoor competition in the country with over 3,000 entries from leading schools and rowing clubs all over the UK.
The winning Senior relay team consisted of Felipe L (Lower Sixth), Nahum F (Lower Sixth), Toby S (Lower Sixth) and Taylor M (Upper Fifth). Nahum also achieved 4th place in the Year 12 individual race.
The team was made up of 50 pupils, including 19 girls and 31 boys. The School has competed at this event for many years but this was the first time Year 7 and 8 pupils also took part.
Head of Rowing Mr Valentin Piticariu proudly shared that there were many personal best results scored by the KSR team. He also lauded the considerable hard work and excellent attitude towards training that the pupils have demonstrated in recent weeks.
