On Sunday 17 March, Alex S (Lower Fifth) competed in the Bursary Prize competition at the Tunbridge Wells Arts Festival final at Trinity Theatre. Alex played Lorito Caprice by Francisco Gomez and the third movement, ‘con brio’ of Horovitz’s clarinet sonata. Alex performed incredibly well, considering he had to cope with a new accompanist at the last minute.

Although he didn’t win the Bursary Competition, Alex was awarded the PPP Challenge Cup for an Outstanding Woodwind or Brass Player and the Advanced Woodwind & Brass Performance Cup — a brilliant achievement.
