Some of our 2022 leavers went to Buckingham Palace to receive their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. Such a huge achievement and we're so proud of them!!
King's was happy to host a Garden party celebration for the coronation of King Charles. On a glorious afternoon, we had over 300 hundred pupils and parents join us for fun, games and delicious cakes, in the sunshine (which we had especially arranged). It was a great way to start the celebrations for the weekend. Mr. Charles then led us in a hearty rendition of the National Anthem.
We celebrated books, authors and the joy of reading on World Book Day today.
We are thrilled to announce that our former pupil, Mimi Webb, has been nominated for her first BRIT award as best new artist.
Everybody was particularly happy to be able to wrap up in some extra layers and warm jumpers as we raised money for the charities chosen by our pupils in The School Council – The Woodland Trust and The Queen’s Green Canopy, The Open House Project and Cobbes Meadow Riding School for the Disabled.
Pupils at King’s School Rochester brought in new toys and gifts in December to donate to the Strood Community Project. The Project distributed hampers in the run up to Christmas to help those struggling financially and we are delighted to hear that our donations played a big part in making a real difference to the Christmases of 200 families.
It was amazing to welcome delegates from The Independent Association of Prep Schools IAPS UK to their Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Conference today. This is something very important to us as a School and we were delighted to host this in collaboration with Rochester Cathedral.
The School is saddened to learn of the death of Margaret Crofts AM at the age of 91. Margaret joined KSR in 1977 as an enthusiastic violin teacher and became Head of Strings; she developed the talents of many a KSR pupil until her retirement in 1993.
On Monday 5th December, Ben Charles, the Principal at King’s School Rochester announced the appointment of Air Commodore John Maas CBE MSc RAF (ret’d) as the new Chair of Governors at the School.
