Congratulations to Yasmin H who was the runner up in the Bloomsbury “A Love for Classics” Competition. The competition gave students the opportunity to express their creativity to share what they love about classics. Yasmin’s play “The meeting of Greek Women and Goddesses” received high praise from the judges:
“A quite brilliant play with so many references to classical women.”
“Sophisticated, humorous – deadly. This scene exposes the meanness of the goddesses of Greece – but it’s not all bad: there’s a winning humanity about them all, and you have to forgive them.”
“What a fantastic entry! This play was an absolute delight to read, not just for the amazing amount of knowledge the author shows, but for the clever and engaging dialogue. It’s really captured the spirit of Greek comedy; there are so many witty lines and references. Absolutely brilliant!”
