With the election upon us, King’s Senior School gave pupils their own chance to use voting power. Six Sixth Form pupils stood, representing Lib Dems, Labour, Conservative, Greens, an independent candidate and the Monster Raving Loony Party. At the hustings, the candidates spoke passionately about their beliefs, urging the school to take part in their democracy.
With a turnout of over 90%, the results were too close to call, with Henry P and Ella J leading for Con and Lib Dem respectively. Hot on their heels was Sam H with his Loonies. The votes were counted and Ella J representing the Lib Dems beat the Loonies, who came second, by 9 votes, with the Conservatives coming a close third.
