It has been a busy week for boys’ football in the Prep school with our U13, U11 and U9 teams all competing at tournaments.
The U13As travelled to New Beacon School on Saturday for The John Norman, 7-a-side competition. The squad performed well, losing only one game in the group stages and progressing to win the Plate Final.
The team was back on the road on Wednesday, competing in the Shapira Cup, hosted by Junior King’s Canterbury. A round-robin style competition comprising six teams provided the team with five well-balanced fixtures against strong opposition. Our KSR side finished in 3rd place and came away with lots of positives as well as some areas to focus on for the rest of the season.
We are incredibly grateful to Spring Grove School who hosted tournaments for our U11 and U9 teams this week. A strong showing from the U11s on Wednesday resulted in four excellent wins in the group stages against St Edmund’s, Spring Grove, Russell House and Bickley Park. The semi-final was super competitive and a tight affair, with our opponents, Ashford stealing a goal late in the second half. The U9s managed to go one better on Thursday. A strong display of team play and individual skill saw them remain unbeaten throughout the day. The semi-final against Bickley Park was keenly contested, however KSR pulled through, for a 3-1 win. The final against Ashford was no different, but a skilful and athletic performance from the entire 9-man squad resulted in a 2-1 win and the team enjoyed lifting the shield at the end of the day.
