We are incredibly proud of Silas M (L6), who has been awarded an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, issued by the Smallpiece Trust. This prestigious and highly coveted scholarship is the UK’s leading award for aspiring engineers and is granted to high-achieving students with the potential to excel in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Silas explains more: “I started the application process in Year 11 after hearing about it on a course I attended. I had to sit an aptitude exam, take part in an interview assessing my technical ability, problem-solving skills, and creativity, and deliver a presentation on a practical project: I built an air-band radio receiver. The scholarship provides invaluable insights into the engineering industry and will help me build a network of like-minded scholars and professionals. It lasts for two years, and I will have access to group mentors, virtual events, and online enrichment resources.”
Congratulations, Silas, on this outstanding achievement!
