We have been commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day. In our services, Mr Paul Medhurst shared his expertise on the Holocaust to remind us of why we continue to remember the atrocities of history and how recalling the persecution of Jews during the Second World War still matters today. His after school lecture to the Zetountes Society reflected on the Nuremberg trials and asked the question: did they bring justice? With such a significant event as the Holocaust, can justice ever be said to have been served? Pupils asked thoughtful questions regarding the excellent presentation and we left more informed about the relevance of the trials to events that have happened since.
