On Sunday, our team competed at the Ball Cup Regatta with five crews representing the school:
• J15 Boys’ Single
• WJ16 Girls’ Single
• Two J18 Boys’ Quads
• WJ18 Girls’ Quad
It was a fantastic day of racing, and all of our rowers showed great determination, skill and resilience throughout their events. A special mention goes to Dylan in the J15 single, whose start was amazing to watch and set the tone for a strong performance.
In the J18 quad category, we had two entries and both crews raced extremely well. One of the quads came incredibly close to taking first place, but difficult crosswinds pushed the crew into the buoys, leaving them just one second behind the winners. Despite the disappointment, it was a brilliant effort and the crew still secured a well-deserved silver medal.
The girls in the WJ18 quad also raced well and showed excellent commitment. Although they were competing against older and more experienced crews – with three of our rowers being WJ17s and one a WJ16 – they fought hard throughout.
Well done to all our rowers for their hard work, effort, and positive attitude. Thank you also to the parents for their support during the day and a big thank you to David Trace for his help and support of the team.
