We had a fantastic day of racing at the Barnes and Mortlake Regatta, with three crews proudly representing our school: two J18 Quads and one J15 Double. Because there was no direct junior competition available for the J18 category, our quads stepped up brilliantly to compete in the Open events.

The J15 Double opened the day with a great performance. They dominated their heat to secure a well-deserved win, advancing to the semi-finals where they narrowly missed out on a spot in the final. The crew looked sharp, cohesive and raced incredibly well. This is a highly promising combination for upcoming events and we are excited to see how they progress in future competitions.

The J18 Band 1 Quad delivered the standout performance of the regatta. Racing in a straight final, the crew executed a brilliant race plan to take first place. It was an exceptional display of racing and serves as perfect preparation as they head into the upcoming Henley qualifiers. Huge congratulations to the crew!

Our final race of the day featured the J18 Band 2 Quad. While they finished last in their final, the result doesn’t reflect the quality of their effort. With a bit more targeted training to get them fully up to speed, this crew has plenty of potential to unlock.

Well done to the entire team for their immense hard work and dedication on the water this weekend. Let’s keep this momentum going. Let’s go King’s!
