The U15 golf team took on Maidstone Grammar School at Tudor Park Golf Club in a highly enjoyable and competitive fixture. Representing King’s from Remove were Blake M, Luke R, George L, Ben R, Will H and Theo C, playing in three pairs in a four ball better-ball (match play) format.
In Match 1, Blake and Luke played some superb golf, finishing 6 up to secure a dominant win. Luke impressed with a confident 15-foot putt, while Blake’s consistent play ensured their commanding lead. Match 2 saw George and Ben narrowly defeated, finishing 3 down, despite George delivering two excellent birdies – one of which came from a brilliant approach shot that landed just three feet from the pin from 130 yards out. In Match 3, Will and Theo held their nerve in a close game to finish 2 up, clinching the overall victory for King’s with a 2–1 win.
Beyond the scores, the team displayed outstanding course etiquette, strong golf knowledge, and excellent social skills. The boys scored and managed their matches independently, and embraced the chance to connect with their Maidstone Grammar School opponents, many of whom they were meeting for the first time.
This was our first ever golf fixture, and it was a great success. We look forward to providing further opportunities for golfers to represent King’s in the future. Well done to all involved!
