Year 5 presented a showcase of artefacts that they had created as part of their Challenge Prep, this term. Throughout the Michaelmas Term, pupils completed a series of tasks, linked to History, Geography, PSHEE and RS, culminating in the final challenge, which was to create an Eco-artefact inspired by their chosen religion, made from only recyclable materials. Parents were invited to come along to the School Hall where the pupils presented their artefacts, speaking with great confidence about their creations. There was a huge range of artefacts on display, ranging from posters to sculptures, miniature gardens to 3D models and after enjoying the exhibits, parents were asked to select their ‘Top 3’, which they secretly wrote on Post-It notes, which were collected by the teachers for counting. The event was very well-attended and was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to practise their presentation skills and showcase their creativity. I would like to thank all of the Year 5 pupils for the effort and energy they put into this challenge and to all of the parents who came along, despite the wintry weather, to support the children. Special thanks to Mrs Walsh and Miss Neeson for the support and regular reminders that they gave to the pupils in their forms, along the way.
The winners will be announced in the final assembly of term, where certificates and prizes will be awarded. Well done to everyone involved!
