Upper Sixth Geography pupils recently travelled to London by train with Ms Bower to attend a full-day AQA A Level Geography Exam Booster conference, hosted by Tutor2u at Westfield Stratford. The event brought together Sixth Form pupils from across the country for an intensive and highly focused revision experience ahead of the summer examinations.

The Exam Booster sessions are designed to strengthen subject knowledge, sharpen exam technique, and build confidence. Throughout the day, our pupils took part in engaging, fast-paced workshops led by experienced Geography tutors and examiners. These sessions revisited key content from across the AQA specification, including both physical and human geography topics, while also addressing common misconceptions and areas where candidates often lose marks.

A particular emphasis was placed on exam skills, such as structuring high-level responses, interpreting command words effectively, and applying case study knowledge with precision. Our pupils also benefited from model answers, examiner insights, and practical strategies for approaching extended writing questions – an essential component of success at A Level.

The opportunity to learn alongside peers from other schools created a motivating and focused atmosphere, helping our pupils to reflect on their own progress and identify areas for final revision. The day provided valuable in-depth tuition and practical guidance, equipping our pupils with the tools and confidence needed to maximise their performance in the upcoming exams.

Our pupils were excellent ambassadors for the school throughout the trip, demonstrating maturity, engagement, and enthusiasm. The experience was both academically rewarding and an important step in their final preparation for their exams.

We wish them every success!
