Saturday saw the Cathedral filled to capacity for the Senior School Speech Day and Prize Giving. Guest of Honour, Lord Craig Mackinlay of Richborough, joined Mr John Maas, Chair of Governors, Mr Ben Charles, Principal and the Dean of Rochester Cathedral in addressing the audience. There were touching speeches from the Heads of School Ella J and Molly E followed by the presentation of three velvet caps.

Prizes were presented across a wide range of curriculum subjects, as well as in sport, music and art. Awards were also given for outstanding personal qualities including conduct, endeavour, kindness, and the prestigious Lord Chadlington Prize for Exemplary All-Round Contribution. Pupil Alex M (L5) charmed the audience on the clarinet. In a moving finale, the Principal joined the Senior School singers in a performance of Seasons of Love from Rent, posing the poignant question: how do you measure a year  — 525,600 minutes — of such an incredible journey?

The day ended with a celebratory tea on the Paddock with pupils, parents, staff and local dignitaries.  We look forward to celebrating with our Upper Sixth pupils on A Levels results day and welcoming back our Senior pupils in September.
