Soon after we break for the summer holidays, the Senior Cricket team departs for their 14-day tour of Sri Lanka. The squad will take on some of the country’s top cricketing schools in seven fixtures across various formats, while enjoying a cultural and sporting journey through one of the world’s most passionate cricketing nations.
The tour will kick off in style on 10th July with a marquee fixture against Maris Stella College at the iconic Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Ground, Colombo. Known as the “Lord’s of Sri Lanka,” the SSC has hosted numerous Test matches and ODIs, making it a fitting stage for our opening match. This is a special opportunity for our players to perform at a ground steeped in international cricketing history.
Across the two weeks, we will face off against formidable opponents including Maliyadeva College, Trinity College, Sri Sumangala College, and Dharmasoka College, with formats ranging from classic 40-over matches in traditional whites to fast-paced T20 clashes in coloured kits. Training sessions at Colts CC and the historic Galle Stadium will ensure the boys are in top form throughout.
Cultural highlights of the itinerary include visits to the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, the Sigiriya rock fortress, the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, and the Galle Dutch Fort, offering our students enriching experiences beyond the cricket field.
We would like to extend a massive thank you to our incredible kit sponsors, whose support has made this tour possible:
- T20 Coloured Playing Kit – Chameleon International
- Training Tee – Calypso Cricket
- Travel Tee – The Old Roffensian Society
- Post-Match Polo – HDX International
- Playing Hat – Old Roffensian Cricket Club
Their generosity ensures our players are proudly and professionally kitted out for every match and event throughout the tour.
With cricket at the heart and adventure on the horizon, this promises to be a truly unforgettable experience for all involved.
