Major Short and three CCF Senior Cadet were delighted to attend the 100th centenary service aboard the Dunkirk Little Ship paddle steamer Medway Queen on Tuesday 23rd April. At this prestigious event was also The Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Mayor of Medway, Regular Servicemen, Reserves, Cadets, volunteers from The Medway Queen Preservation Society and many members of the general public. The Medway Queen built in 1924 in Troon, was part of Operation Dynamo 1940 in WW2 rescuing 7,000 men as part of the British Expeditionary Force from the beaches of Dunkirk. The Medway Queen successfully completed seven crossings to support the country and bring service personnel safely home.
