Pupils in 2MD have been practising their class assembly for Book Week and were so excited to share it with their parents. They loved talking about the various fiction and non-fiction books they have enjoyed from the school library.

Pupils delighted the audience by acting out scenes from The Tiger Who Came to Tea, bringing the story to life with wonderful expression. They also performed “Yellow Submarine” on the chime bells, played a hand-clapping game to “A Sailor Went to Sea, Sea, Sea,” and sang beautifully while sharing their learning about the famous explorer Jacques Cousteau.

As part of their non-fiction studies, 2MD explored books about caring for dogs. They learned how to look after our King’s School wellbeing dog, Bobbie, who helps us unwind. Bobbie recently visited the classroom so the children could put their learning into practice, demonstrating gentle and responsible ways to care for him. He certainly helps everyone relax after a busy day!
To finish, the pupils sang in unison, performing “When I Grow Up” from Matilda with confidence and joy. It was a wonderful performance and a fantastic way to conclude Book Week.
