CLUBS & Activities

King’s has a fantastic breadth of clubs and activities designed to appeal to everyone.

We are committed to educating the whole child, and provide a richly varied co-curricular programme to appeal to children of all abilities and interests.Pupils benefit from many opportunities to take part in a variety of activities. Our children are encouraged to broaden and extend their skills of communication, teamwork and leadership.

Pre-Preparatory

The majority of co-curricular activities are free and our children enjoy clubs and activites like Running, Football, Multisports, Craft, Chess, Well-being, Lego, Science, Story, Construction, and Observational Drawing. There is a small fee for our clubs that are led by specialist staff, including LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art), Cheerleading, Martial Arts, Yoga and Ballet. Clubs take place during lunchtimes and after school.

Mini Duke Award

King’s Pre-Preparatory School, with thanks to The Old Roffensian Society, takes part in the Mini Duke award.

This is a mini version of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and targets primary-aged children to encourage and develop valuable life skills. It increases children’s independence, confidence and resilience, whilst giving them a good feeling of achievement on completion. The challenges range from First Aid, exercise, domestic challenges, budgeting for a packed lunch, baking, washing, public speaking, and litter picking… all whilst having lots of fun!

Preparatory

Clubs available to Pre-Preparatory pupils include: Art, Athletics, Ballet, Chess, Cricket, DT, Ecology and Gardening, Film Club, Hockey, LAMDA, Lego, Maths, Minecraft, Needlecraft, Netball, Photography, Puzzle Club, Rugby, Running, Football and Swimming.

There are also numerous fun House competitions that take place throughout the year, including House Tiddlywinks and House Conkers.

Senior

Pupils in the Senior School can enjoy a range of clubs and activities, such as Chess, Astronomy, Debating, eSports, Knit & Natter, Medieval Society, Art and Design, Ballet, Music, Sport, Acapella, Choir and Jazz, each taking place during lunchtime, after school or over the weekend.

This is further enhanced by a range of regular trips both abroad and closer to home, which help to broaden our pupils’ horizons and understanding of the world around them. Details of the current up-to-date co-curricular offerings and trips are emailed to parents on a termly basis.
