LAMDA at King’s

The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art has been in operation for over 160 years and is a world leading conservatoire and examinations provider. Learners at King’s will follow the Performance and Communication syllabi with the option to work towards exams in Acting, Verse and Prose and Public Speaking. Medal level exams (grades 6,7 & 8) carry UCAS Points which will benefit university applications. LAMDA is Ofqual recognised, see below for exam equivalents:

  • LAMDA Entry Level – Entry Level Functional Skills
  • LAMDA Level 1 – NVQ Level 1, BTEC Level 1
  • LAMDA Level 2 – GCSE, Higher Diploma
  • LAMDA Level 3 – AS & A Level, BTEC National

AVAILABLE SUBJECTS

Acting – Learners gain vocal, physical and interpretive skills, bringing characters to life from a wide range of texts, working individually or as a duo. (These lessons

Verse & Prose – For individuals who want to develop their vocal and communication skills and enhance vocabulary, imagination and memory.

Public Speaking – In addition to improving clarity of speech and effective modulation, learners will develop good posture and appropriate body language by creating and performing engaging speeches.

LAMDA lesson options 

After School LAMDA clubs (based on 10 sessions)

  • Year 5 & 6 Club (max 8 pupils) Thursday 4.20 – 5.20 pm
  • Year 7 & 8 Club (max 8 pupils) Tuesday 4.20 – 5.20 pm

Individual and Duo Lessons of 30 and 60 minutes on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school day.
Lessons are rotated to avoid missing the same lesson each week. Duo is only available for acting.
