Welcome to
KING’S SCHOOL ROCHESTER
King’s is a remarkable school with a rich and diverse heritage, where pupils have been educated for over 1,400 years under the watchful gaze of Rochester Cathedral and Rochester Castle.
At King’s, we believe in preparing children for the 21st Century through educating the whole child. Our priority is ensuring that happy children perform to their best and the School is an exceptionally happy and friendly place where moral values, self-discipline, emotional intelligence and a Christian spirit underpin our family community.
Every step of the King’s School Rochester journey, from Nursery through to Sixth Form, is designed to help pupils flourish, grow in confidence and discover new passions. We believe that building a love of learning and developing independent thinking skills are just as important as achieving the best grades, and so our teachers help each pupil to realise their own potential.
There’s one motto we live by at King’s and that’s simply “Work Hard, Play Hard and Look After Each Other”, no matter what age you are.

The MCC batted first on an easy-paced Paddock wicket and despite some disciplined new ball bowling from Dandeniya and Ford, they made it to lunch unscathed. Post lunch, the MCC batters, Denny and Clifton, began to put the pressure on. The King's change bowlers and the breakthrough finally came when Clifton was caught, brilliantly, by [...]
Year 2 enjoyed their trip to the Alps as part of the King’s Outdoor Learning Programme led by Major Short. They had fun exploring the woodlands and building a campfire to roast marshmallows and make delicious S’mores.
Year 4 are studying the Romans this term and the pupils have been very busy. Some have made villas, mosaics, ballistas or shields, helmets and swords. In modern popular culture Pentecost isn't nearly as well known as Christmas or Easter, but for Christians it's profoundly significant. It marks the coming of the Holy Spirit on the disciples and their transformation from frightened and confused people to those who would face martyrdom for what they believed. It is celebrated 50 [...]
We were treated to three special services at Rochester Cathedral over the weekend, all celebrating musical history. On Saturday, former Cathedral Organists Barry Ferguson (1977-1994) and Roger Sayer (1994-2008) and former Organ Scholar David Price (1991) conducted and played the organ for the Old Choristers, including founder members of the King's Singers (Chris Gabbitas OR), [...]

YR had a fantastic trip to Kent Life this week. We were so excited to engage in two workshops whilst there, Grain to Bread and Meet the Animals. The children followed instructions very carefully to turn their ingredients into individual loaves of bread before heading to the farmyard to meet and touch a ferret, Pygmy [...]
Mr Medhurst writes: Thank you for sharing your wonderful production of “DNA” on Friday evening. Although I was familiar with Dennis Kelly’s play, this interpretation was particularly compelling. The studio staging was intimate, the claustrophobia conveying the suffocating moral dilemma shared by the group, and yet the actors avoided any sense of self-consciousness. Despite [...]
Those who joined in Senior School may not know where, or even what, the Wellbeing Centre is––but my friends and I believe they should. Our visit on Wednesday showed us just how much it had to offer. The beads were popular and it's safe to say we all left with a bracelet. There was [...]

The theme of Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 was ‘Movement’.
